Adrian had given us the 3 different potential sizes, without having a concept/title or the actual work it's a bit difficult to do much other than research into different books etc. So what I've started to do here and others have done too is think about how these image sizes can fit into the square format. Trying to consider the different amount of images people will have and trying to think about how we can facilitate a series of images as well as larger ones. With 2 double page spreads for each student it gives us quite a lot of space to use and so hopefully we'll be able to use some of these options that use more white space; allowing more breathing room for the photographs. One problem that arose from this was that we were unsure about what kind of variety of photos people will have, whether they stick to the same format etc
To try and help us move forward we've now asked Adrian to provide us with some sample work so we can understand more how it might work across 2 double page spreads. Also it became apparent from our yearbook catch up today that the layouts where people have used actual images give us much more of an idea about whether they'll work or not so that's my job for today. Also to think about where text might go and how things can work across 4 pages. Obviously this is going to be driven by the title or concept but it would be good to have some sort of idea.
