I started trying to apply the graphics onto the wall but it was taking a long time and to be honest having to try and photoshop stuff like the curved type on the desk etc looks rubbish when you compare it to the renderings of the spaces. I'm thinking that it might be a better idea to work with Ben on this so that I say where I want stuff and design the visuals and together we can think about what kind of materials/depth would be best. And then Ben can use the CAD software to produce the mock ups. I'm meeting Ben on Thursday to discuss this. This means also that I can spend more time considering the wayfinding materials and we can get the most out of this project.

Testing the type size for the door (printed to scale)

Spec's for the entrance, thought it would be the best place for opening times and the exhibition name. Also started to think about how the elements from the visuals can transfer into the wayfinding.

Although we had rendered what things were going to look like I wanted to have a look at how it would actually look when made from the real materials.

visual going across the spread, really like the contrast of colour against the grey background

map/infographic in centre with more information around the edge

Interesting way of comparing data sets

Cover for Chamber

Went into Chamber for the day and was asked to produce a front cover for a report based on cost pressures. They suggested maybe an illustration with play on words etc and I tried thinking about this but everything I thought of and jotted down was so cheesey that I didn't want to do it. I decided that maybe a compromise would be using type as image and try and convey the idea of pressure and impact through type.

In the end I settled with this, with the type being broken up and crumbling from 'pressure'. I used a purple background because I didn't want it to become too negative, and also I'd used purple in the infographic I did for them before, which would feature within the report. I don't particularly like this piece of work, not proud of it at all and I wouldn't feature it in my portfolio. I need to get better at producing these quick turn around briefs, but at the same time I just don't enjoy doing it.

Destruction of type through pressure

Starting to look at type crumbling away under pressure, resembling rocks.

Considering how colour and shapes can put pressure on the title, hate this.

I thought about using the word impact to put pressure on other words but thinking about it, it put's emphasis on the wrong part of the title, the more important part is the cost pressures.
